Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo "MOT Collection 2nd Rewinding Collection" Exhibition
The Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo owns a collection of about 5,500 works from modernism to the present, with an emphasis on post-war art. In the "MOT Collection" exhibition, different aspects are made for each session to show works and convey the charm of contemporary art. This exhibition is the second exhibition of "Rewinding the Collection" (2020-), which shows the works in the order of the year of production, while rewinding the history of the collection including the period of the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum, which took over the works when the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo opened (1995).

This time, it goes back to the 1960s, when anti-art artists such as Tetsumi Kudo gathered in the "Yomiuri Indépandan" exhibition, to the opening of the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum's new building in 1975, to when the collection of works and special exhibitions began in earnest. From 1975 to the 1990s, the exhibition highlights the collected works of various artists such as Richard Long, Miyako Ishiuchi and Toshikatsu Endo through the exhibitions in two museums.
