21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa "DXP (Digital Transformation Planet): Towards the Next Interface "
The 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa, presents the exhibition "DXP (Digital Transformation Planet) - To the Next Interface". How will digital technology change our way of life and sensibilities? This question has been asked repeatedly since the 20th century. In 2023, we may answer this question: a completely different planet is about to emerge. On this planet which has entered the Anthropocene, we are immersed in an invisible network. Our lives are partly (and getting more and more) controlled by AI, and the relationship between technology and life is being generated anew every day.

The National Museum of Modern Art, Kyoto 60th Anniversary exhibition
"The Kyoto Art World Comes of Age A New Generation Takes Over from Seiho and Shoen"

From October 13 (Friday) to December 10 (Sunday) 2023, the National Museum of Modern Art, Kyoto, presents the exhibition titled
The Kyoto Art World Comes of Age
A New Generation Takes Over from Seiho and Shoen to celebrate the museum¡Çs 60th anniversary. . Kyoto, which had always been the center of the art world, entered the Meiji period and its inherited traditions and prestige were loosened by the capital Tokyo and Westernization. New generations such as Tsuchida Bakusen, Ono Chikutaka, Nonagase Banka and Okamoto Shinso were born. These painters worked through trial and error with older painters like Takeuchi Seiho and Uemura Shoen to create Japanese paintings that no one had seen before.

This exhibition, marking the 60th anniversary of the opening of the National Museum of Modern Art in Kyoto, showcases the sometimes raw, excessive and endearing works of the Kyoto art world from the end of the Meiji era to the beginning of the Showa era, when the painters of the Kyoto art world came together, faltered and struggled. Please enjoy it. Please look forward to it.
