Tokyo Art Museum "Questions After Half a Century"

The "Questions After Half a Century" exhibition invites those who enrolled in the oil painting program at Tokyo University of the Arts in 1975. It is an attempt to show how the artists who started their journey at that time have sublimated their individual challenges over the past fifty years, and how they have now manifested those challenges as "questions."

Hyogo Prefectural Museum of Art Gallery 3F "Yoshinari Ishimura Exhibition - Colors of Life"

From October 12 (Saturday) to December 8 (Sunday), 2024, the "Yoshinari Ishimura Exhibition - Colors of Life" will be held at the 3rd-floor gallery of the Hyogo Prefectural Museum of Art.
Living in Niihama City, Ehime Prefecture, young artist Yoshinari Ishimura continuously depicts living creatures with unique colors day after day. From playful Indian elephant calves to the threatened Shoebill, and crimson camellias waiting for spring, Ishimura breathes life and warmth into every depiction of life, regardless of the circumstances. After drawing approximately 80,000 visitors in Okayama and Ehime, this much-anticipated exhibition is making its way to Kansai.
In addition to the breathtaking 26-meter-long representative work "Animal History," which depicts the evolution of living beings, over 200 pieces, including immersive spaces filled with colors and unique new works created for the Kobe exhibition, will be displayed.

Nezu Museum Special Exhibition "The Aesthetics of Summer and Autumn - Featuring the Fine Works of Suzuki Kiichi and Ine N. Koto"

The Kokin Wakashū anthology shows Japan's historical preference for spring and autumn, reflected in art through cherry blossoms and autumn foliage. In the Edo period, however, summer and autumn became a notable combination, showcasing a fondness for summer's charms. This exhibition highlights masterpieces by Suzuki Kiitsu and Tawaraya Sōtatsu, inviting exploration of seasonal moods and aesthetic sensibilities.

YCAM InterLab Camp vol.5 Homo-Cordens: How Will Humanity Depict in the Age of AI?

At the Yamaguchi Center for Arts and Media [YCAM], a focused workshop series, "YCAM InterLab Camp," will be held featuring researchers and artists. The fifth edition, "Homo-Cordens: How Will Humanity Depict in the Age of AI?" explores the relationship between media technology and creativity through the practice of "generative art" that combines AI technology and coding. Yokosuka Museum of Art "Second Phase Collection Exhibition - Special Feature: 100th Birthday of Saori Akutagawa"
The Yokosuka Museum of Art holds four exhibitions each year of works from our collection. The works being shown in this exhibition include modern and contemporary Japanese art, together with works by artists with special connections to Yokosuka.In Room 4, "100th Anniversary of her birth AKUTAGAWA Saori" focuses on Akutagawa(Madokoro)Saori, a pioneering female painter who was active in the 1950s and is known for her avant-garde dyeing works.

“Iwai Toshio x Tokyo Photographic Art Museum: 100 Story House of Light and Movement – Connecting 19th Century Video Devices and Media Art”
Toshio Iwai has a strong interest in animation and has established unique media art through his "Time Layers" series, enhanced by contemporary technology. Known as a picture book author, his "House of 100 Stories" series has sold over 4 million copies. This exhibition showcases Iwai's media art, original works, and 19th-century projection devices, offering a captivating experience of visual phenomena involving light and movement.

Kanagawa Prefectural Museum of Modern Art, Kamakura Annex Collection Exhibition "Goya Prints: 'Caprices' and 'Disasters of War'"
The Kanagawa Prefectural Museum of Modern Art, Kamakura Annex is currently presenting the collection exhibition titled "Goya Prints: 'Caprices' and 'Disasters of War'." Francisco de Goya (1746–1828), a pioneer of modern painting, lived through a tumultuous history. This exhibition features all 80 prints of "Caprices" and "Disasters of War," highlighting the profound questions posed to humanity, inscribed in the realms of light and darkness.
