	Amidst the dynamic backdrop of 2024, as the world's gaze converges on the pursuit of sustainable well-being and the effortless fusion of state-of-the-art AI technology, the 2024 Kyoto Global Design Awards (KGDA) warmly invites creative designers and inventors from every corner of the globe. The central theme for this year revolves around achieving a harmonious union of aesthetics and sustainability, prompting creators to craft compelling, environmentally conscious, and socially impactful masterpieces. 	Stellar Isle by SpActrum
	Stellar Isle, covering approximately 1,200 square metres, stands as the most significant new cultural and leisure building in Shaoxing Chaichanglong. This area represents the first organic renewal zone in the old town of Shaoxing, situated opposite the former residence of the female revolutionist Qiu Jin and overlooking Pagoda Hill to the north. The total area spans 23,500 square metres. After a five-year renovation, historical buildings from various eras have been preserved, and new buildings and skywalks have been constructed, transforming it into a historical block featuring structures from different periods.

Many renewal practices, however, overlook the unique living environment and regional characteristics of rural areas, neglect the exploration of local village culture and the social aspect of public spaces. This had led to the destruction of the original state of the villages, the erasure of their historical memory, and ultimately the loss of precious indigenous cultural resources in rural areas. 	The Vives Architecture Festival, held in Montpellier, France since 2006, is known for transforming Montpellier's architectural treasure trove of historic private residences with contemporary architectural installations, offering the public an immersive form of exploration. This year's festival was held from June 11-16, 2024, under the theme of "Rhythm," and Alvaro Gonzalez Serrano & Jennifer Alvarado Figueroa presented their installation "¿Í (Person)" as a creative body of art and beauty, the origin of movement and rhythm.

	Founded in 1982 by Lee Hyun Sook, Kukje Gallery in Seoul, South Korea has established itself as a key promoter of Korean Dansaekhwa art and a platform for international contemporary artists like Alexander Calder and Jean-Michel Othoniel. The gallery's K3 building, designed by New York-based SO-IL, stands out with its ethereal architecture featuring a stainless steel chainmail mesh facade. This design, crafted with 510,000 individually welded rings, blends modern innovation with traditional craftsmanship, creating a smooth, light, and flexible outer layer that complements the gallery's surroundings near the Gyeongbokgung historic palace. The K3 building, completed in 2012, reflects Kukje Gallery's commitment to architectural excellence and its role in integrating contemporary art into Seoul's rich cultural landscape.
