【ADF Web Magazine】Beachhouse Renovation in Agia Kyriaki by ARP |
This project by ARP – Architecture Research Practice involves the renovation of a small beach house on the Cycladic island of Antiparos, initially built in the 1980s. Located next to the Byzantine church of “Agia Kyriaki” (Saint Sunday, from which it takes its name), the building's outline remained intact, as current regulations prohibit any rebuilding on this site due to its proximity to the sea and its archaeological significance. |

【ADF Web Magazine】LIVING Modernity: Experiments in the Exceptional and Everyday 1920s-1970s |
In this insightful article, Matteo Belfiore reviews LIVING Modernity, an ambitious exhibition at The National Art Center, Tokyo, that traces the radical transformation of residential architecture from the 1920s to the 1970s. Co-curated by Ken Tadashi Oshima, the exhibition explores how iconic architects such as Le Corbusier, Mies van der Rohe, Lina Bo Bardi, and Alvar Aalto reimagined the home—not just as a structure, but as a vessel for modern living. Through themes like hygiene, materiality, windows, kitchens, media, and landscape, the exhibition examines the social, cultural, and technological shifts that continue to influence domestic design today. Rich with full-scale installations, original furniture, and multimedia storytelling, LIVING Modernity invites visitors into a dynamic, evolving narrative of how we live—and how we might live tomorrow. |

【ADF Web Magazine】Ofisvesaire unveiled S House in Turkey |
In Turkey, on the sloping terrain of Kekliktepe, Urla, S House is a luxury residence that underwent a profound transformation, evolving from an existing structure with a basic envelope and foundational systems into a sophisticated architectural statement. Entrusted to Ofisvesaire, the project began by revisiting the initial building's framework, where the structural system was reimagined to allow a reorganization of the floor plan and massing. This revision culminated in the integration of a composite system, blending reinforced concrete with architectural elements that redefine the home's identity. A notable feature of the transformation is the addition of a pergola with a flexible glass façade, enhancing spatial fluidity and visual connection by seamlessly blending interior and exterior spaces. |
