Evaluation Criteria
The WA Awards judging criteria are based on Novelty, Originality and Creativity in design that reflect and inspire a commitment to the art of architecture are the main criteria. World Architecture Community seeks to bridge the gap between theory and practise. Therefore, the architect's statements and the members' discussions about the submissions are as crucial for recognition as the design itself.
Schedule & Calendar
The schedule for our 3-4 cycles per year is identical between cycles. The first few months after the new cycle is announced, you can upload and submit your projects for the WA Awards. Submissions for the 39th WA Awards will be open until November 8, 2021 (23:59 GMT).
Selection Process
In the fourth month of the cycle, a period of approximately 20 days is reserved for voting and judging.
In the meantime, members of the World Architecture Community, Honorary Members of WAC and previous winners of the WA Awards will be able to vote on and evaluate projects submitted during the cycle for WA Awards throughout the 3 months when participants have submitted their projects since the cycle opened, until the cycle is complete.
In order to be able to rate the projects, a WAC member must have uploaded at least 1 project on their site at least 1 month ago and the project should have been made available to the public by being approved by the World Architecture Community.
Finally, the "X" can be awarded to projects that did not make it to the final selection of 10 or 5 projects, but had that "certain something" that made them worthy of selection and recognition as an "X" by the WA jury.
