This year's Experimental Design Competition 2022 of the Association of Siamese Architects under Royal Patronage (ASA) is themed "CO-EXIST WITH CO-AREA", with ideas focusing on the practical use of space. ADF (NPO Aoyama Design Forum) proudly supports the competition. This year's entries are open only to residents of Thailand and end on April 19, 2022, at 17:00 (GMT+7).
DESIGN BRIEF
From the past to the present, architecture is a building that defines a space, creates a way of life, and refines the human spirit. It is part of a community and a city that allows people to engage and interact in a tangible way. At the same time, virtual reality technology has expanded the boundaries of human activity beyond a physical space. We can be in different places at the same time within an hour, minute or second. We can be "ourselves" in both the virtual and real worlds. Technology can connect people from different corners of the world and create a new form of social interaction and companionship that is not as reliant on physical space as it once was. It is a tool that makes our lives more convenient. However, technology itself is very complex in terms of social relationships, space and time, so much so that we sometimes forget that we all live together on Earth and in the same universe. The concept of experimental architecture may not be enough to change the way we live as much as today's technological advances are increasingly physically impacting the human way of life. ASA Experimental Design Competition 2022 is urging all participants to develop an idea that focuses on the practical use of space. Consider 'Co-Exist with Co-Area' in a time when co-working spaces are available in different forms and in different time dimensions. It can be an architecture that connects people; an architectural concept that creates a better city or a better society; and that creates value and contemporary meaning that can be put into practice. In addition to the award ceremony for the winning entries, all entries submitted will be publicized not only to the architectural community, but also to a wider audience.
