World Architecture Community has opened the 42nd cycle of the WA Awards 10+5+X to accept innovative projects from around the world, judged by a distinguished jury that includes world-renowned architects, top academics and leading designers, as well as previous winners of the WA Awards and members of the World Architecture Community. You can enter by October 24, 2022 (23:59 GMT +0) by first registering here at WAC. Registration at WAC is free, and participants must first upload their work to their WAC pages and can submit their entries at any time before the deadline. ADF (NPO Aoyama Design Forum) has continuously supported the award as one of the media partners.

Since their inception, the WA Awards 10+5+X have received over 1,900 projects and have been awarded in over 40 cycles since 2006. The goal of the WA Awards is to spotlight all projects that challenge contemporary architectural theories so that they are not overlooked and have the opportunity to be recognized worldwide. The competition is held 3 or 4 times a year, and participants can complete their works after a sufficient preparation time of about 3 months. The judges can also take time for their own judgment.
Eligible Members
WA Awards 10+5+X are open to architects, architecture firms, interior designers, interior design firms, and architecture and interior design students.
Categories
WA Awards accepts projects for architects, interior designers and students in 2 main areas: Architecture and Interior Design. Then the projects should be submitted under these 3 subcategories Realised, Designed and Student. All participants should send their projects that meet these conditions:
For Architecture:
● WA Designed Award: Projects that were not built,
● WA Realised Award: Projects that are actually built (built maximum within the last 10 years),
● WA Student Award: Projects designed by Students/Academics (projects must have been studied in students' undergraduate years or in Master's Degree), only "Designed/Conceptual" projects valid - Student category projects must be presented with Supervisor or Tutor/Instructor's name and surname in the "Project Team" section during the upload. Student category projects which don't comply with these criteria will be removed from the competition,
For Interior Design:
● WA Realised Award: Projects that are actually built (maximum within the last 10 years),
● WA Student Award: Projects designed by Students/Academics (projects must have been studied in students' undergraduate years or in Master's Degree), only "Designed/Conceptual" projects valid - Student category projects must be presented with Supervisor or Tutor/Instructor's name and surname in the "Project Team" section during the upload. Student category projects which don't comply with these criteria will be removed from the competition,
WA Awards is free-of-charge for WAC Professional Members and Students.
Evaluation Criteria
WA The evaluation criteria of the award are based on novelty, originality and creativity in design, reflecting a commitment to the art of architecture and inspire are the main criteria. The World Architecture Community seeks to bridge the gap between theory and practice; therefore, the architect's statements and members' discussions of submissions are as critical to recognition as the design itself.
Selection Process
The awards are based on 2 selection procedures: WAC The vote of the members and the vote of the honorary members of WAC and the previous laureates of WA.
The above members will see the "Vote" button defined for them after clicking on the World Architecture Awards 10+5+X Submissions page.
Finally, 'X' is a project that didn't make it into the final 10 or 5, but was rated by the WA jury as having something 'special' that deserves recognition.
Participation Fees
WAC Professional Members may enter the WA Designed Award or WA Realised Award categories with a single project per cycle for free as part of their membership benefits. They cannot participate in the WA Student Award.
Academic members of the WAC may participate in the WA Student Award category with a single project per cycle at no cost.WAC Finally, Associate Members may participate in the WA Designed Award or WA Realised Award categories, but must pay a fee. (Professional and Academic Members may participate with additional projects in a given cycle, for which a fee is also charged). Participation to the WA Designed Award will require a fee of 100USD per cycle and per project submission, while the WA Realised Award will be subject to 200USD per cycle and per project submission. They may not participate to the WA Student Award.

Entry Fees
As a member benefit, WAC Professional Members are entitled to participate in the WA Design Awards or WA Realized Awards categories free of charge, one project per cycle. However, they cannot participate in the WA Student Award. WAC Associate Members may enter the WA Design Awards or WA Realized Awards, but there is an entry fee. Also, you cannot participate in the WA Student Awards.
The following fees are charged for each entry in each category of the WA Awards.
WA Awards Participation Fee for Associate Members (per Cycle and per Project):
WAC Professional Membership fee: 250 dollars annual
Designed category: 100 dollars
Realised category: 200 dollars
Students: free
Jury
Honorary members of the WAC comprise a group of architects, eminent critics, scholars and editors of architectural journals, curators, and professionals from architectural centers and other organizations.
This year's notable judges are:
Nikos Fintikakis, co-founder of SYNTHESIS AND RESEARCH, acclaimed Indonesian architect Budi Sukada, who is senior lecturer at the University of Tarumanagara, artist and teacher Ruth Jacobson, Alhadeff Architects founder Giancarlo Alhadeff, Sanjay Puri, the founder of Sanjay Puri Architects, are among the WAC's Honorary Members.
WAC's Members are composed of architects, interior designers, students and academics.
