NPO Aoyama Design Forum (ADF) is proud to announce the second round of jury members for the 15th annual ADF Design Award 2025. Building on the momentum of the first announcement, this international design competition continues to attract world-renowned professionals from diverse fields of architecture and design. The newly announced jury members are esteemed figures with impressive accomplishments across the globe.

Ed Ng / Co-Founder & Principal of AB Concept

As one of Hong Kong’s most creative designers, Ed Ng co-founded AB Concept with Terence Ngan. Raised in Hong Kong, Ed’s dual cultural background in Asia and the West informs his distinctive design approach. Over two decades, he has led AB Concept in creating innovative spaces for premier hospitality brands like Four Seasons, Rosewood, and Ritz Carlton. His work exemplifies the seamless fusion of diverse cultural aesthetics.

Duangrit Bunnag / Design Director and Founder of DUANGRIT BUNNAG ARCHITECT LIMITED

Duangrit Bunnag, a prominent Thai architect, founded DBALP in 1998. His work includes the transformation of an old factory into "The Jam Factory," a creative arts space. He has earned international recognition with multiple ARCASIA Gold Medals and other prestigious awards. In 2023, Duangrit was appointed to Thailand’s National Board of Soft Power Strategy, highlighting his significant influence in architecture and beyond.

Dawn Lim / Executive Director of Design Singapore Council (Dsg)

As Executive Director of Dsg, Dawn Lim is a leading advocate for design’s role in sustainability and emerging technologies. She has spearheaded initiatives such as Singapore Design Week and the Future Impact showcase at Milan Design Week. With a career that spans roles in economic development and international relations, she brings a unique perspective to the global design landscape.

Sanmitra Chitte / Dean of World University of Design and President of Association of Designers of India (Delhi NCR)

Sanmitra Chitte is a futurist and polymath in design, blending her expertise in graphic design, branding, and innovation. With over 23 years of experience, she has made significant contributions to design management and education. As a design thinker, she emphasizes sustainability and transformative processes in her academic and professional endeavors.

Michael Green / Founder & Principal of Michael Green Architecture

Michael Green is a pioneer in sustainable architecture, specializing in wood-based and bio-based construction. His TED Talks, including “The Natural Building Blocks of Sustainable Architecture,” highlight his innovative approach to the built environment. He has received over 50 design awards and authored influential books on tall wood buildings, solidifying his reputation as a global leader in sustainable design.

Submissions will be accepted from Thursday, August 15, 2024, to Friday, December 20, 2024 (JST).

Hospitality: Hotels, casinos, theme parks, pavilions, etc.
Commercial & Office: Shopping centers, department stores, office buildings, etc.
Housing Complex: Non-private residences, non-interior spaces.
Education & Sports: Schools, research facilities, stadiums, etc.
Cultural Buildings: Theaters, libraries, museums, art galleries, hospitals, etc.
Public Architecture: Government buildings, airports, stations, ports, etc.

Prize money
Grand prize: USD 30,000 (one film from all categories)
Award of Excellence: USD 5,000 (two entries from all categories) *If no entries are selected, the award winner may not be selected.

Extra prizes
・Grand Prize and Excellence Award winners will have their works exhibited (photos, models, etc.) at the ADF venue at the Fiori Salone during the ‘Salone Internazionale del Mobile’ (Milano Salone International Furniture Fair)
・Set-up costs of up to USD 1,000 to be covered by the Aoyama Design Forum
・Opportunity to exhibit at the Metaverse Museum "COCO WARP"
・Opportunity to exhibit at the art gallery run by ADF
・One year of PR support at the ADF Business Matching Division for the Grand Prize winner

・Individual or group entries (one work per group).
・Open to all nationalities.
・Must be an ADF member (no fee to join).

Entry Work Requirements
・Completed works within the past three years.
・Submission Requirements
・Design Proposal: Concept, materials, and details (up to 5 pages in A4 PDF format).
・Minimum 300 dpi resolution, file size ≤10MB, font size ≥11pt.
・Curriculum Vitae: Up to 5 pages in A4 horizontal PDF format.

Judging Criteria
1. Beauty: Artistic value in shape, color, detailing, and material selection.
2. Innovation: Socially responsive, using new materials, innovative processes, and pioneering designs.
3. Usefulness: Benefit to users and sustainability for the environment.
4. Regional / Cultural / Chronological Context: Fit with regional and cultural backgrounds and contemporary trends.
