The eagerly anticipated "Business of Design Week (BODW)" organised by Hong Kong Design Centre (HKDC), the flagship event in the realm of design for Hong Kong and the world, is returning this early December. BODW is organised by HKDC. This year's partner country, the UK, is known for its creative power that is spread across all sectors, making it one of the world’s greatest when it comes to “soft power”. This time BODW will bring together some of the biggest names in British design, including Barber & Osgerby (London Olympic Torch), Thomas Heatherwick (New London Bus, London Olympic cauldron and UK Pavilion in World Expo 2010), Patrik Schumacher of Zaha Hadid Architects (London Aquatics Centre, World Cup 2022 stadium) and Neville Brody (Artistic Director of The Face in the 1980s, and current Professor of Visual Communication at The Royal College of Art), along with more than 70 renowned speakers from over 10 countries and cities. Together they will host 13 summits and forums for designers, business executives and the general public for a week's illuminating discussions on design today.

BODW has grown to become a world-class design event since its inception in 2002. Its star-studded lineup of speakers covers a wide range of design and design management disciplines, and has so far attracted the attendance of over 160,000 industry professionals. Speakers from the past two years include Trend Forecaster Li Edelkoort, former editor-in-chief and creative director of Wallpaper* Tony Chambers, award-winning Japanese architects Toyo Ito and Sou Fujimoto, Italian Artist Edoardo Tresoldi, British design critic and author Alice Rawsthorn, just to name a few!
