Renovation of the Former Residence of Zhang Taiyan by Tsing-Tien Making

"Renovation is not simply about blending into the old. Instead, it involves the fusion of the old and the new to imbue this long-standing house a new language, from design to functionality and the experience it offers to visitors. We hope the story of Zhang Taiyan and his house do not stop in that specific time period but to continue, with the new memory and language, to carry forward."

PL-T Architecture Studio unveiled Quzika 1865 Winery Complex in Quzika, Markam County, Tibet. It is located at the foot of Dameiyong Snow Mountain, close to Lancang River, thousand-year-old salt fields, and the only Catholic church in Tibet. The mission of the project is to generate income for local Tibetans by establishing a winery that can provide cutural tourism experiences to alleviate poverty through the development of local industries.

The World Architecture Festival (WAF) has announced the winners of the WAFX Prize, recognizing outstanding future architectural projects addressing major global issues. This year, exceptional projects across 11 categories have been honored for their innovative approaches to challenges in areas such as health, climate change, technology, ethics, and values. The awards will be held at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore, from 6 November to 8 November 2024.

Shenzhen Guangming International Equestrian Center by Tanghua Architects

The Guangming International Equestrian Center is in the Guangming Subdistrict of Guangming District, Shenzhen. It serves as the main venue for dressage and show jumping events of the 15th National Games and is the only newly constructed venue for the Shenzhen section of the games. The project spans an area of 50,018 square meters, with a total construction area of 69,000 square meters. The facility boasts a main arena, an indoor training hall, an outdoor training field, event spaces, and stables that can house 200 horses.

Luxe Lakes CPI Island: The Average Temperature and Subtle Scenery Between Islands

The Luxe Lakes CPI Island Commercial Renewal Project is a collection of villa models located on the east side of Luke Island in the "Luxe Lakes Ecological City" of Chengdu. More than 20 former Luxe Lakes Villa models have been located on the island. CPI Island needs a revitalized urban renewal and commercial iteration to reset the idle old properties on these islands, activate the connection between waterfront, human habitation, and commerce.

The design aims to enhance this image together with the concept of ‘Kitsch’, a form of art that appreciates imperfection through architecture elements and materials, which refers to an imperfect shape of ‘croissant’.

The name “Haru” translates to “Spring” in Japanese, referring to a “new beginning” and “growth” while “Dot” symbolizes a “starting point”.

Founded in 1982 by Lee Hyun Sook, Kukje Gallery in Seoul, South Korea has established itself as a key promoter of Korean Dansaekhwa art and a platform for international contemporary artists like Alexander Calder and Jean-Michel Othoniel. The gallery's K3 building, designed by New York-based SO-IL, stands out with its ethereal architecture featuring a stainless steel chainmail mesh facade. This design, crafted with 510,000 individually welded rings, blends modern innovation with traditional craftsmanship, creating a smooth, light, and flexible outer layer that complements the gallery's surroundings near the Gyeongbokgung historic palace. The K3 building, completed in 2012, reflects Kukje Gallery's commitment to architectural excellence and its role in integrating contemporary art into Seoul's rich cultural landscape.
